VAF Evoqua self-flushing mesh filters are highly efficient filtration systems designed to remove solids from liquid media. They are widely used in a variety of industries including industrial, municipal water supply, water and wastewater treatment, oil and gas, and others.

The main component of the filter is a mesh element made of stainless steel or other materials with high strength and corrosion resistance. The mesh forms an obstacle to the passage of solid particles of a certain size set by the selected mesh type. When contaminants accumulate on the mesh surface, pressure builds up which triggers the self-flushing process.

The self-flushing process is based on backwashing the screen with purified backwash water. When the accumulated contaminants reach a pre-set level, the control valves are switched and a jet of purified return water passes through the screen, removing the accumulated contaminants and flushing them into the discharge channel. This process can occur automatically without interrupting the operation of the filtration system.
